Welcoming Day for Ministerial Delegations
The first day is dedicated to the opening of the G7 Inclusion and Disability Summit. Ministerial delegations will be welcomed in the Piazza in Assisi, where the opening ceremony will take place. You can attend the event by pre-registering on the website.
For the first time in history, some practices will be undermined and the welcome, with the traditional handshake, will be shared with people, families, associations, citizens.
There will be 3 bands, 80 musicians including 50 with disabilities, who will play the national anthems of the countries involved. In the same square, there will be food trucks from all over Italy where boys and girls with autism and other disabilities work, and along the main street of Assisi there will be about one hundred associations with stands, to present their projects and their activities.
In the lower and upper squares there will be two large monitors to allow all those present to follow the welcome ceremony.
Program
From 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM in Via San Francesco the associations’ stands will be open to public visits.
10:30 AM In the Lower Square of the Basilica, there will be the official postal cancellation mark dedicated to the first G7 on Inclusion and Disability.
After 11:00 AM visits will only be allowed with specific agreements for the upper square (for security reasons).
3:00 PM Start of the event
Access to both squares will be granted through a specific badge that must be collected at the Lyrick Theater of Assisi before reaching the event venue.
From 5:30 PM, the stands will reopen to the public.

TRAINS
Train Carrier Trenitalia
From Rome
- Fiumicino Airport station (inside the Leonardo da Vinci airport) every 15′ to Roma Termini with the “Leonardo Express” service, to Roma Tiburtina with metropolitan trains on the FL 1 line (Fiumicino Airport – Fara Sabina/Orte)
- Roma Termini and Roma Tiburtina direct connections to Assisi (PG) (Rome – Foligno/Assisi/Perugia lines)
- Rome – Assisi 6 direct connections of which 1 Intercity and 5 Fast Regionals with departures approximately every 2 hours and journey times starting from 2h 10′. On 13 and 14 October additional direct services (in addition to connections with change at Foligno station).
From Perugia / Foligno / Spoleto / Terni
Direct connections, with departures approximately every hour (at peak times 30‘) and journey times starting from 20’ from Perugia and Foligno, 45‘ from Spoleto, 70’ from Terni.
From Florence
- Santa Maria Novella station with high-speed services from Turin / Milan / Bologna / Venice and direct connections to Assisi (PG)
- Florence Peretola Airport Tram service connecting to Florence Santa Maria Novella railway station in a few minutes
- Florence – Assisi: 7 direct connections including 1 Intercity and 6 Fast Regionals, with departures approximately every 2 hours and journey times starting from 1h 45′ (IC) (in addition to connections with change at Terontola station).
- Freccia Link dedicated High Speed bus service with arrival or departure for Perugia and Assisi stations, available exclusively in connection with Freccia AV trains to/from Florence SMN (1 outward and 1 return trip per day).

In the event of the need to use a wheelchair for boarding and/or alighting from the train, the assistance service must be booked at least 12 hours in advance.

Assisi Link
Train + bus service by Trenitalia and Busitalia, connecting the centre of Assisi with the whole of Italy
Departure from the Assisi FS train station exit for the historic city centre (approximately 10 minutes), with runs combined with train services to and from Assisi. Daily, throughout the day, with departures approximately every 30 minutes.
The Umbria Airlink service
Busitalia service in collaboration with Trenitalia from Umbria International Airport.
The service operates every day: the timetable is differentiated according to the day of the week to coordinate with flight connections arriving and departing from the airport.

Lines A and B of the Assisi urban service
Busitalia service connecting the various areas of Assisi’s historic centre with the main points of interest.
Lines A and B operate daily, with trips every 40 minutes.

Special services
On the occasion of the first day of the G7 Inclusion and Disability Summit, urban transport in Assisi will be enhanced with the establishment of a shuttle service between the car parks in the Santa Maria degli Angeli Station area and the city centre.

SOCIAL HEALTH NETWORK
The Umbria Region, the Regional Health Authority, the Police Force, the Prefecture and the Police Headquarters, the Fire Brigade, the Civil Defence, 118, the Italian Red Cross, Aism and, in particular, the Serafico di Assisi GUARANTEE a valuable point of reference for people with disabilities, their families and different eventualities.
The IAPB Italia Foundation Ets (International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness) will offer free screenings for glaucoma and maculopathy for adults, and amblyopia (lazy eye) for children. The screenings will take place in Piazza del Comune in Assisi on Monday, October 14, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. To access the screening, simply go to the Mobile Ophthalmology Clinic and wait in line.

The Seraphic Institute for the Deaf and Blind is a non-profit Ecclesiastical Organisation that promotes and carries out rehabilitation, psycho-educational and social-health care activities for children and young adults with physical, mental and sensory disabilities.
Police number
As of 12 October, a toll-free number at the Questura will be active, linked directly to the event’s control centre, with the support of the social-health network’s contacts. Please contact the toll-free number for any requests relating to social and health services.
There will also be a line made available by the Serafico di Assisi institute, which is the main partner of the social-health network and which, on the 14th, will provide people and families with spaces, hygiene services, assistance support and will carry out recreational activities.
VOLUNTEERS
More than 120 volunteers will be present, easily recognisable by their bibs with the G7 symbol. These volunteers will offer information and support both in the squares and in the car parks.
SHUTTLES AND TRANSPORT
Free shuttles will be available to assist people with reduced mobility in reaching the two squares. These means of transport will also be used to accompany people who need to collect their badges at the Lyrick Theatre (Viale Gabriele D’Annunzio, 06081 Santa Maria degli Angeli PG).
TOILETS
The toilets are signposted and easily accessible, and are located in both the lower and upper squares.
VISITS TO THE BASILICA
It will be possible to visit the Basilica of Assisi from 08.00 to 18.00. Holy Mass will be celebrated on 14 October at 18:30.
STAND HOURS
There will be over 50 stands in the Piazza Superiore and Via San Francesco.
- From 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.: open to all
- From 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.: open only to participants who will have access to the Upper Square
- From 5:30 p.m. onwards: at the end of the event, the stands will again be open to everyone.
